Sitting in Sound
A sculptural performance project, developed and performed at the V&A museum, 2026
Sitting in Sound, explores the question of, what does it feel like / look like, to be held in a space by sound?
This project looks to creatively unpack and push the boundaries of how sculpture and spaces can be immersive through sound and musical intervention. It is a creative investigation into live experiences, through experimentation and discovery. Exploring sound as an embodied experience - rather than simply observing, but feeling. With jazz music jams at the heart of this project’s inspiration, this project is curious at how the natural and organic ebb and flow of creatively sharing can be projected into the space of this project. Over a series of months this research project looked to collaboratively work with a range of musicians cultivating sharing and exchange through live interactive workshop sessions. Creating a body of work which doesn’t need to be final but more creatively questions the intersection of sound, space, the human body, an audience, experience and sculpture.
